Carol Geneva Lonning, 48, of Altoona, Wisconsin, died January 10, 2007 from an AVM at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Carol was born on June 24, 1958 in Hutchinson, Minnesota, the daughter of Alton and Elaine (Paul) Lonning. 
 
Carol enjoyed her horse, Slick and any opportunity to ride. She will be greatly missed by her family, her many, many friends, especially her "Barn Buddies" and her Special Auntie, Tekla Bekkedal.
 
She is survived by her parents; brothers, Gerald (Francie Sholl) Lonning, Gene (Kelli) Lonning and James (Michele) Lonning; nephews, Jared and Jordan; special auntie, Tekla Bekkedal. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunt and uncle. 

 
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mary Jorgensen officiating. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Horse Rescue Fund, Literacy Volunteers of America, Chippewa Valley, or the Eau Claire Humane Society.
