After serving four years overseas in the Army during WWII, Walter married Mary G. Statz on October 16, 1945. Walter and Mary moved to Eau Claire over sixty years ago to live, work and raise five children. |
Walter loved good conversation, cooking, reading, and being in nature, whether gardening, fishing or out on the golf course. He will be remembered for his enduring spirit, gentle nature, wisdom, wit and the love and pride he had for his family.
Walter Kuehn is survived by his five children and their five spouses: Ron (Jayne) Kuehn of Madison, WI, Pat (Tom) Moran of Louisville, KY, Bonnie (Larry) Bins formerly of Eau Claire, Paul (Linda) Kuehn of Eau Claire, and Mary (Rick) Lee of Berkeley, CA, Eleven grandchildren and five spouses: Erin (Tim) Hook of New York, NY, Jordan (Ajay) Lamb of Madison, WI, Ellen (Steven) Mettlach of Greenfield, WI, Reed (Devon) Kuehn, of Bethesda, MD, Katie (Pete) Vanaria of Chicago, IL, Jenny Bins, Brian Bins, and Patrick Kuehn of Eau Claire, WI, Megan Kuehn of Chicago, Jack Lee and Kent Lee of Berkeley, CA. Six siblings and two spouses: Ludvina Fedele of Madison, Betty Ripp of Waunakee, WI, Lucille Grosse, of Waunakee, WI, Kathleen Statz of Waunakee, Ben (Mary) Kuehn of Waunakee and Al (Olga) Kuehn of Waunakee. Walter was preceded in death by wife, Mary; his parents, John and Appelonia; a sister Olivia and brothers Wilbert, Leonard, Ray, Sylvester, Arthur, and Lavern.
Friends may call at Fuller Speckien Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until 10:00 am. There will be a prayer service officiated by Father Edmund Klimek Tuesday evening at the funeral home beginning at 7:00 pm.
